What is a DORA?
A DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) allows you to purchase alcoholic beverages to-go from participating locations. These beverages are served in a special DORA cup, which you can carry around and enjoy within the designated boundaries of the area. Whether you're enjoying a stroll or relaxing at an outdoor spot, you can now sip your favorite drink outside!
DORA Hours:
Piqua’s DORA is open every day from Noon to 10:00 p.m., giving you plenty of time to enjoy your favorite beverage outdoors.

Temporary expansion areas to the DORA may be activated at the discretion of the City Commission.
Where can I buy DORA beverages?
- You can purchase DORA beverages from the following participating locations:
- American Legion
- Crooked Handle Brewing Co.
- Lemon Meringue
- Lighthouse at the Lock
- Liquid Lounge
- Lucky's
- 3 Joe's Pizzeria & Trattoria
DORA Do's and Don'ts:
DO:
- Drink responsibly, enjoy the event, and have fun!
- Drink and stroll within the DORA boundaries using a designated DORA cup.
- Ask your server to place your beverage in a designated DORA cup if you plan to leave the establishment.
- Purchase your beverage from a participating DORA establishment, which will have signs identifying their participation.
- Obey all DORA guidelines posted throughout the District.
DON'T:
- Bring your own beverages into the DORA.
- Consume DORA beverages outside the Arena District DORA zone.
- Take a beverage purchased at one DORA establishment into another.
- Walk with a purchased beverage in a cup other than the designated DORA cups.
Note: All liquor regulations apply to establishments and patrons within the DORA, including overserving and drunk driving laws. Please drink responsibly.
DORA Rules and FAQ:
RULES:
- Patrons must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol.
- DORA beverages must be purchased at participating liquor establishments. You cannot bring your own drink.
- DORA drinks must be discarded before entering another bar or restaurant that serves alcohol, or any business displaying a red "DORA Not Permitted" sign.
- You may enjoy your beverage outdoors and take it into shops displaying a green "DORA Welcome" sign.
- DORA drinks are only allowed within the DORA boundaries. Exit signage is placed at the boundaries, and DORA beverages are not permitted beyond these points.
- Safety and nuisance laws are still enforced! Be respectful of residents and businesses, and never drink and drive.
FAQ'S:
Q: Can I bring my own drink into the DORA?
A: No. Patrons cannot bring their own alcoholic drink into the DORA. You can purchase your favorite drink in a marked DORA container from a participating establishment.
Q: Can I take my DORA beverage from one liquor establishment into another?
A: No. You cannot take a DORA drink back into the liquor establishment where you purchased it after exiting or into another liquor establishment.
Q: Can I take my DORA beverage into my favorite shop?
A: Yes. If a retailer indicates that they allow DORA beverages by displaying a green DORA sign, you can shop with your drink!
Q: How will I know if I am within the DORA boundaries?
A: There are signs placed around the Piqua DORA to signify participating locations and to alert you if you are entering or exiting the designated DORA boundaries.
Q: Do the DORA boundaries change for special events?
A: The DORA exists within a permanent footprint. In addition, temporary expansion areas can be approved for special events only, which can only be activated at the discretion of the City Commission.
