The site originally was home to North Street Elementary School, constructed in 1889 and added onto in 1898.
In the early 1980s, the Kiwanis Club of Piqua began work on rejuvenating the scenic neighborhood location. Although the school building was razed, some of the school’s stonework and bell remain on the site.
The site now hosts playground equipment, a shelter house and open active space for sports and other activities. Adequate street lighting enhances the public space, and ample street parking makes the park accessible.
