Weather Conditions Center
 
  
A Weather Conditions Center is located at the City of Piqua Wastewater Treatment Center.  Weather information is collected from this site and distributed to the National Weather Service (NWS).
  
Wastewater personnel collect high temperature, low temperature, and current temperature, rainfall and/or snow depth (and liquid amount).  This info is called in to the NWS by Wastewater personnel.
 
A capsule/device in the NWS box collects and records the monthly rainfall on an hour-by-hour basis.  This readout is then sent to the NWS.
 
The weather information station has been in use for more than 16 years.
