MEETING MINUTES

Don Ruffner made a motion to approve the September 7, 2007 meeting minutes
as submitted and Wayne Pope seconded the motion.

NEW BUSINESS

The committee had a short discussion about the hazardous trees in the city and how they were going to be addressed. Bob Graeser said he would review the list with Amy Havenar and follow up with the committee at the next meeting.

ITEM NO. 1: DISCUSSION ON THE UPCOMING PLANTING

The committee discussed the details of the tree planting scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2007. Several of the properties slated to receive trees had to be eliminated from the original list because of improper tree lawn space. Bob Graeser notified all homeowner's that did not qualify.

Mr. Graeser mentioned that in the future a committee member would need to complete a site evaluation to see if there is appropriate space for a tree to be planted.

Mr. Graeser welcomed Kirk Nichols, a representative from the Grace United Methodist Church. An outreach committee from the church called "Green and Grace Filled" will spearhead the volunteer efforts for the upcoming tree planting. Mr. Nichols will be responsible for informing the volunteers of the details.

The committee will welcome any additional volunteers to attend. It is the committees desire to oversee the planting of the trees and make sure that the trees are being handled properly and planted within the committees required standards, and fill in where needed.

Jack Hepler said that someone should check the trees after they are delivered to the Parks Department and inspect their condition. Mr. Graeser said that he would inform Jack when the trees would be delivered so Mr. Hepler could take care of them.

OTHER BUSINESS

Rosemary Howell mentioned Melissa Randles for a possible Chairman Candidate.
She has a lot of experience and seems to be an eager participant. Mr. Graeser said that he would contact her and see if she would entertain the thought of taking the position.

Wayne Pope made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Rosemary Howell seconded the motion.
