There are many aspects involved in strategic planning for the city.  Some of these include development of visions, values, and mission for the City of Piqua.  Other aspects are community-wide envisioning and planning processes such as Future Piqua I (1992) and Future Piqua II (1999).  All of these aspects rely on a variety of means to gather information, not the least of which is citizen participation. 

The City of Piqua employs a planning process to develop its strategic plan covering short-term, mid-term and long-term goals.  Every year part of the plan is incorporated into the City’s annual budget and realized through the diligent efforts of city staff and community volunteers.
