| The City of Piqua operates its own
sanitation department and provides weekly residential refuse
collection. With a few exceptions, refuse collection
is unlimited and includes grass, yard waste, brush, tires,
furniture and appliances.
A monthly fee is charged for this service.
Senior citizens may pay a lower fee by purchasing bags from the
City as part of the Senior Citizen
Refuse Program. This program allows senior citizens to
pay for only the amount of refuse generated.
In the spring of each year, the Sanitation
and Street Departments participate in the City
Wide Clean Up Week. Items are collected that are too
large for daily pickup, such demolition debris, concrete, large
brush piles, trees and rocks.
The City of Piqua contracts with a private
company to provide weekly curbside commingled recycling.
