From the Piqua Arts Council: December Art Walk to Feature the Art of Worship

Piqua Arts Council will once again be focusing on the Art of Worship for their December Art Walk. The Art Walk is a self-guided tour of downtown religious institutions taking place on December 13th from 4pm to 7pm. These houses of worship will focus on the art and architecture in their buildings and how the art plays a part in furthering their message. Nine institutions will be participating including Congregation Anshe Emeth Jewish Synagogue, Warren Lodge #24 Masonic Temple, True Vine Church, Westminster Presbyterian, St. Mary's Catholic (closing at 5:30), St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed, Greene St. Methodist, St. James Episcopal Church and Congregational Christian United Church of Christ. Each house of worship will light their steps with luminaries so "Walkers" will know which entrance to use. St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed Church members will be providing special music in the sanctuary and fellowship hall, sharing church history, offering "hands-on" tolling of the bells. The Arts Council hopes you'll join us for this free event helping us further our mission of making the arts accessible through education, support and presentation. Maps of the participating locations can be found at participating houses of worship and Readmore's Hallmark.

As a special add-on event, PAC is having a ticketed progressive reception after the Art Walk. This event will be a tour of 5 homes in the Caldwell Historic District with each location featuring a "Nip and a Sip". The homes will all be decorated for the holiday season and each home will provide a small appetizer or dessert and a festive beverage from wine to hot chocolate. Homes featured on this tour will be Tim & Sue Peltier, serving cheese and crackers, and wine, Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast, serving assorted holiday cookies and homemade hot chocolate, Rick & Denise Klosterman's providing meatballs and holiday punch, Scott & Mary Frances Rodriguez will have figgy pudding and hot buttered rum and Chuck & Shelley Black will have nuts, olives and wine. Don Smith of Allisten Manor's Flower Box will have his signature holiday decorations on display at Chuck and Shelley Black's and GeNell's Flowers will have their holiday arrangements featured at Tim and Sue Peliter's. Tickets for this event are $10 and can be purchased at Readmore's Hallmark starting December 2nd during regular business hours. Tickets are limited to the first 150 sold, please get yours early.
