The City of Piqua will conduct a
ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of East Ash Street (US.
Rt.36). The ceremony will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday,
October 2, 2012 at the corner of E. Ash and Spring Street.
The Ohio Department of
Transportation (ODOT) contracted with Double Jay Construction of
Englewood, Ohio to complete the road reconstruction. The
project, which involved many years of planning, began
construction in February 2012. The project included the
excavation and widening of the existing street material and
placement of new street base, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water
mains, new fire hydrants, water service work, concrete curb
& gutter, new asphalt surface and new concrete sidewalk. The
project limits extended from Spring Street to the Great Miami
River Bridge.
This project would not have been
possible without out the cooperation of the many local
businesses, residents, ODOT and Double Jay Construction.
The public is invited to attend
the ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 9:00
A.M. at the corner of E. Ash and Spring Street. |
