The City of Piqua's 2012 Street
Resurfacing Program is currently underway. The City entered into
a contract with Barrett Paving Materials, Inc., of Middletown,
Ohio, for this project.
The project consists of grinding
off the existing asphalt surface, placement of the new asphalt
surface course, the final adjustment of manholes and water
valves, reconstruction of catch basins and new pavement
markings. Also included in the scope of work is the installation
of concrete curbing, sidewalk, and truncated dome pavers at
radii at locations along the streets to be resurfaced.
The 2012 Street Resurfacing
Program includes the following streets: Looney Road from Ash to
Garbry Road, Candlwood Blvd from New Haven to Amherst, Amherst
from Plymouth west to the dead-end, and Fairfax from McKinley to
Marlboro.
Traffic will be maintained
throughout the duration of construction, which is anticipated to
be complete by the end of October. Parking along the streets
will be prohibited at times due to the milling and paving
operations. No Parking signs will be posted 48 hours in advance
to notify motorists of such restrictions. Motorists are asked to
proceed through all construction areas with caution. |
