Piqua will be hosting its annual meeting on Wednesday,
September 10, 2014 and interested citizens, businesses and civic
leaders are invited to attend. The meeting will be held on the
4th Floor of the Fort Piqua Plaza with refreshments and
networking at 9:30 a.m. and the formal program will get underway
at 10 a.m.
During the annual meeting the
downtown organization will take time to recognize individuals
and businesses who they believe have significantly helped the
downtown and the Piqua community. Following the awards
presentation, and a celebration of the Masinstreet Piqua
accomplishments in the last year, the attendees will be treated
to a presentation by Gene Krebs. Mr. Krebs is former county
commissioner and state representative and is currently the
president of the Ohio Consumers' Council Governing Board. Mr.
Krebs is also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Community
Solutions in Cleveland. Mr. Krebs will be speaking on the
interaction between rural and urban communities in the State of
Ohio and the challenges and opportunities facing the state.
Mainstreet Piqua is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Piqua.
The organization is responsible for a number of projects in the
Piqua community including downtown beautification and hosts
several events throughout the year including Taste of the Arts,
Christmas on the Green and the Piqua Community Farmers Market.
