22nd Annual Piqua Fine Art Show
& Gala Awards Reception

The Piqua Arts Council would like to invite the community to their 22nd Annual Piqua Fine Art Exhibition ....

The Piqua Arts Council would like to invite the community to their 22nd Annual Piqua Fine Art Exhibition. The exhibit opens publicly on September 5th and will run through September 26th during normal Apple Tree Hours at 405 N. Main St. The Gala Awards Reception will take place on September 4th from 6pm to 9pm, with awards being announced around 8pm. One of the largest art exhibits in the Miami Valley, the 2014 Piqua Fine Art Show will feature over 150 works of art from 60 artists.

The Gala Awards Reception will feature hors d'oeuvres by Nancy and Joel Armstrong and entertainment by Richard Kinsley and Jennifer Evans Kinsley, who will be playing roots music (traditional, folk, Americana, and the music of the British Isles) on hammered dulcimer, lap dulcimers, and acoustic guitar. The night will see us award over $2000 in awards across six different categories, with drawings, paintings, photography and even sculpture. These awards will be selected by Carrie Longley, a studio artist and professor at Indiana University East. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Wittenberg University and a Masters of Fine Art from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Tickets for the Gala can be purchased at Readmore's Hallmark and cost $25. Piqua Arts Council Members can get tickets for $20 through the arts council.

In addition to the more than 150 works of art on display and the entertainment, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on unique works of art from our Full Deck Fundraiser. These works of art have been painted on playing cards, making them each 2 inches by 3 inches. The works range from watercolors to oil paintings with mixed media works mixed in as well. Everything from abstracts to realistic works are featured from many award winning artists. Bidding on these works of art has started on the Piqua Arts Council's Facebook page and will continue until 3pm on Friday, September 5th. For an additional $5, artwork winners will be able to have their artwork matted and ready for them to select any 8"x10" frame for their work.

Visit to place your bid on these works.

The 22nd Annual Piqua Fine Art Exhibition is sponsored in part by Hartzell Propeller, Jackson Tube Service and the Crayex Corporation. With their help and the help of many other community sponsors, Piqua Arts Council is available to continue to promote their mission of making the arts accessible to our community through education, support and presentation.
