City of Piqua, was pleased with the announcement.
"Participation in the ICMA Center for Performance Analytics
allows us to measure various city services and compare our
performance annually with other municipalities across the nation
and internally from year to year. This data is extremely
valuable as additional management tool for operational
decision-making and budgeting prioritization. We are very
pleased to be recognized with this achievement by ICMA,"
William Lutz, Development Program
Manager of the City of Piqua, helps manage the city's
performance analytics program, "We have tried hard not only
to collect data, but also become more transparent in sharing the

our departments that help contextualize the data we collect and
tell a story of how our community is doing," said Lutz. The
profiles are available at the city webpage.
ICMA assesses a local
government's performance management program and encourages
analysis of results by comparing to peers and gauging
performance over time. Performance management aids in cost
reduction, program prioritization, and quality improvement. It
also encourages accountability and transparency. Certificates
are awarded at the levels of Achievement, Distinction, and
Excellence. Piqua is among nine jurisdictions receiving the
