Stride & Ride 2008 Patch |

The promotions committee of
Mainstreet Piqua has put together a fun ‘Stride and Ride’
event to celebrate the springtime! The annual “Think Spring”
Bike ride and been turned into a Stride and Ride event so as to
include both bike riders and walkers in a leisurely bike ride or
walk on the Piqua PATH. The 2008 Stride and Ride will be held on
Saturday, May 17 starting at 10 a.m. at Lock 9 Park.
The walk/ride will proceed in a clockwise direction around the
entire 7.2 mile Loop and arrive back at Lock 9 Park. There is no
charge to participate and everyone will receive a coupon flyer
good for all the eating establishments and select retailers in
downtown Piqua. Those wishing to participate in the event, but
who do not wish to do the entire 7.2 mile course, may join the
walk/ride at either French Park or the Riverside Drive Access
point.
Participants (and Piqua collectors) will also have the
opportunity to purchase a cloth patch with Spring Stride and
Ride ’08 on the patch. The whimsical patches also feature both
a rider and walker with “springy” legs. The patches
are $5 each and this is the fifth in a series of collectible
patches being created specifically for the Mainstreet Piqua
events held on the Linear PATH.
Those wishing to find out more about the event can stop in at
Apple Tree Gallery, 405 N. Main, Dobo’s Delights Bakery, 417
N. Main, Susie’s Big Dipper, 323 N. Main or The Tapestry
Angel, 516 N. Spring Street. In the event of rain the event will
not be held. For more information call Mainstreet Piqua at
773-9355. |
