Piqua Arts Council Announces New Board Member Appointments

Piqua Arts Council

The Piqua Arts Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Loretta Henderson and Taylor French Lutz to the Council's Board of Trustees.

Loretta Henderson is the principal at the Nicklin Learning Center in Piqua, and previously served in the same role at Washington Intermediate School. Henderson's childhood passion for music and drama led her to Wittenberg University, where she received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in vocal music. Henderson taught general and choral music for public schools in Springfield, Dayton, and Kettering for 17 years. During that time Henderson also served as a director for the Kettering Children's Choir. Henderson earned a Master Degree from Antioch University, McGregor in Educational Leadership in 2004 and obtained her Ohio Principal's License the following year. When asked about her interest in serving on the arts council board Henderson replied, "I look forward to the opportunity to work with members of our community to bring unique and interesting cultural experiences to Piqua."

Taylor "Tayte" French Lutz is Marketing Coordinator of the French Oil Mill Machinery Company located in Piqua. Lutz joined French Oil in 2010 and is responsible for the company's marketing campaigns, website, brand management and market analysis. In January 2013, Lutz was appointed to the company's Board of Directors. Prior to joining French Oil, Lutz gained experience in marketing, business analysis, and sales and purchasing in the fashion industry. Lutz graduated from the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans, with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing, and also studied Marketing in the European Union at the MBA Institute in Paris, France. When asked why the arts council board of trustee position appealed to her Lutz commented, "My interest in the arts community and desire to give back to my hometown made it easy an easy choice for me to serve on Piqua Arts Council Board of Trustees. The arts council seems to be headed in a very positive direction and I am excited to take part in shaping its future."
