At their last meeting, the Board of
Trustees of Piqua Neighborhood Improvement, Inc. graciously
accepted funding from various local foundations in order to fund
the Volunteer
Park Ranger Program, a joint partnership between the
City of Piqua and the Piqua Neighborhood Improvement, Inc.
William Lutz, Secretary-Treasurer
of Piqua Neighborhood Improvement, Inc. stated, "Our strong
network of neighborhood associations know how important parks
and public spaces provide identity and value to our
neighborhoods and our community. This work we are completing
with the city is important and will continue to make our park
system a strong asset for our community. In particular, we would
like to thank the Miami County Foundation, the Hartzell-Norris
Charitable Trust, the Lundgard Foundation and the Jacob G.
Schmidlapp Trusts, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee, for their
generosity and helping this program move forward."
Piqua Neighborhood Improvement,
Inc. was established in 2009 as the organization charged with
coordinating efforts between the four neighborhood associations
located within the community. For more information, please
