If you love fresh vegetables, but
just don't have the space to plant a garden, the City of Piqua
Division of Parks has the answer! Pitsenbarger Park is the new
home for our community garden plots. There are various size
plots to fit every gardeners needs. Just want to plant a couple
of tomato plants, then lease a 5' x 10' plot; want just a little
more then lease a 12' x 20' plot; want to grow enough vegetables
to last the summer, then lease our 12' x 42' plot.
The Division of Parks will do everything possible to make your
gardening experience a success. Each leased plot will have a
sign with the leases name, the area will be tilled and mixed
with compost for a nutrient rich soil. Wheel barrows will be
available for use, along with a water supply with hoses, and
trash receptacles to keep the area neat and clean. The garden
plots will be fenced off so that only those leasing garden plots
will have a key for access. The only thing you need to provide
are your plants, hand tools and labor.
