City of Piqua to Become a Full Voting Member of the Ohio Utilities Protection Service (O.U.P.S.)

Beginning January 22, 2008, the City of Piqua will become a full voting member of the Ohio Utilities Protection Service (O.U.P.S.). This change has eliminated the need for citizens to contact both the City of Piqua for locations of city-owned utilities and the O.U.P.S. for locations of all other utilities. From this date on, all location requests should go directly to O.U.P.S. at 1-800-362-2764. Once O.U.P.S. receives a request for a locate within the City of Piqua's service area, they will forward this request on to all member utilities, which will now include the City of Piqua.

By law, everyone must contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service, 1-800-362-2764, at least 48 hours but no more than 10 working days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) before beginning any digging project.
