Piqua Ohio Police Department
General Employment Requirements
for Police Officers
 
An applicant must be at least 21 years of age and a maximum of 35 years of age at time of appointment. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving violence or moral turpitude.
 
Applicants must have a certified or original copy of the following:
High School diploma/GED certificate
Valid driver’s license
Military discharge form DD214, if a veteran of military service
Social security card
Birth Certificate
College diploma (if applicable)
 
Applicants must be able to comply with the Police Department’s residency requirement within 1 year from date of appointment if hired. This states that officers must reside within 15 miles in a straight line from the Police Department.  All sworn officers must have a working telephone.
