The Piqua Police Honor Guard is a specialized volunteer unit that was started in 2005. Their inaugural event was on February 17, 2005 when they presented a plaque to honor the August 11, 1970 members of the Piqua Police Department who provided service to the community after the death of Patrolman Jan Mulder.

The Honor Guard represents the Piqua Police Department in many department and civic functions to include: funeral and memorial services, award ceremonies, retirements, cordons for arrivals and departures of dignitaries, color guards, weddings, parades and drill performances.
