On Saturday, April 12, 2008,
members of the Shawnee Neighborhood Association cleaned up an
area behind the 200 block of East Main Street. The area
cleaned up can be seen from the houses on the north side of East
Main Street and from the Linear Park path, so the clean up benefited
the local residents as well as those that use the
City's bike path.
The area had become overgrown with weeds, brush and small
trees. In addition, because of the heavy brush, trash
would get blown and caught in this area. The area is now
more open and cleaner.
The Shawnee Neighborhood Association once again showed how with
neighbors helping neighbors, everyone benefits.
