Project Update and Photos- August 6, 2007

The Contractor, R.B. Jergens out of Vandalia, Ohio has completed the pavement removal on the north side of CR 25-A. Two-way traffic is being maintained on the south side of CR 25-A on the new "temporary" pavement. The Contractor is also continuing the installation of the 20" water main, which will be located underneath the southbound lanes of travel once the final pavement is in place. The service laterals will need to be installed and the water main will need to be tested and chlorinated prior to the new main being put into service. The schedule is to make the transition from the old water main to the new water main sometime mid to late August.

The Contractor is also in the process of replacing the bridge over Rush Creek. The majority of the existing structure has been removed. The Contractor is gearing up to begin driving piling for Pier #2 (east side). Once the pile driving is complete, the Contractor will begin pouring concrete for the footer for Pier #2.

The Contractor has removed the concrete median and has begun widening the pavement on the south side of Rush Creek towards the river bridge. Storm sewer installation is also taking place on the south side of Rush Creek.
