Development Program Manager

 
The City of Piqua, Ohio has an immediate opening for a Development Program Manager. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive community development program on behalf of the City. Duties include development of community and economic programs, preparation of materials, coordination of activities, application and administration of grants, and preparation of reports. Requires that work be performed in accordance with terms of grants. Work involves frequent dealings with the public and media. The Development Program Manager must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to handle confidential inquires from elected officials; resolve complaints; possess a high level of technical competence; communicate effectively with media representatives, and the general public verbally and in writing. General administrative direction is received from the Assistant City Manager/Development. Work is reviewed through meetings, discussions and monitoring progress of program goals and objectives. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Affairs, Public Administration, or a closely related field and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in city planning/community development, including experience in a managerial or administrative capacity.
