Income Tax Department
 
The City of Piqua Income Tax Department processes and collects all City income taxes.  Eighty percent (80%) of income taxes collected come from individual wage earners and twenty percent (20%) from business and industry.

No income tax is paid on income that people receive from Social Security benefits, teacher or other pensions.

The business hours for the department are:

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday)

Checks should be made payable to the: "Piqua Income Tax Department".  

 
2005 Accomplishments
 
•

Fully implemented HB 95 guidelines for city income tax
• Implemented the Ohio Business Gateway, allowing companies to file their extensions and estimates.
• Continued in-house customer service training
 
2006 Goals
 
• Continue implementation of Ohio Business Gateway, allowing companies to file their net profits returns.
• Investigate process to implement electronic tax filing for individuals.
• Develop and administer in-house tax training for account clerks
 
The Income Tax Administrator for the City of Piqua is Finance Director, Cynthia A. Holtzapple.

Income Tax is under the leadership of Accounting and Income Tax Manager, Lisa Cavender.
