The following are the high priority
goals set by the Future Piqua II process. They appear in
no particular order. |
|
|
- Develop a method for
neighbors to deal with neighborhood problems.
- Improve the exterior of homes.
- Establish more stringent
property maintenance code enforcement.
- Renew the upcoming street
levy.
- Improve Piqua's overall image.
- Improve the downtown
image.
- Improve the appearance of the
downtown.
- Fill downtown office
space/vacancies.
- Energize the downtown
revitalization effort.
- Enhance work force
development.
- Become a more progressive
city.
- Improve the capacity of the
current workforce.
- Increase broad-based community
appreciation for completing a high school education (not
just GED) and college as necessary steps to a full,
productive life and career.
- Create a shared responsibility
among all socio-economic groups of parents, school
representatives, students, employers, and the community at
large for the success, reputation, and future of the school
system.
- Reduce the "support
disparity" between community activists and the large
"disengaged" population.
- Establish a process for after
hours health care in Piqua.
- Redevelop the Fort Piqua
Hotel.
- Develop waterway recreation in
the community.
- Create a Senior Citizen
Center.
