Piqua I (1992) |
| |
| Over 700 Piqua Citizens
participated in preparing Piqua's first community wide strategic
plan called "Future Piqua I". The vision for this plan
was to improve and promote the quality of life for all citizens
by means of:
|
| |
- Supporting our
educational and recreational opportunities in our community.
- Developing the
industrial and business base of Piqua.
- Strengthening infrastructure
such as housing, utilities, streets, etc.
- Enhancing the
historical/cultural character of Piqua and improving the
city's visual appeal.
|
| |
| The Future Piqua I Plan
recommended twenty priority proposals to be addressed for action
by public and private agencies. The major issues to be addressed
in the twenty priority recommendations involve:
|
| |
- Communications
- Economic Development
- Education
- Health and Social Services
- Historical
Preservation/Cultural Appreciation
- Housing
- Physical Infrastructure
- Recreation
|
| |
|
The Future Piqua I Plan was
approved in March 1992. As of January 1999, public and private
agencies had completed 18 of the first 20 priority items and
progress is ongoing on the other 2 issues.
Future Piqua I served as the
catalyst for community-wide efforts to improve and promote the
quality of life for Piqua citizens. |
