City Hall in the Park

The Piqua City Commission, City Manager, various Department Heads and Piqua citizens met on Saturday, September 8, 2007 beginning at 12:00 PM at Pitsenbarger Sports Complex Shelter for City Hall in the Park.

Mr. Enderle introduced members of the City Commission: (Commissioner Terry, Commissioner Patrizio, Commissioner Barhorst and Commissioner Vogt) City Staff: (Harry Bumgarner, Dean Burch, Amy Welker, Andy Burner, Gary Connell and Amy Havenar).

Health Department Director Amy Welker reviewed information in regards to the Neighborhood Improvement Team efforts within the City of Piqua. As a result of this presentation the following concerns and questions were mentioned:

1. 422 N. Downing Street is in bad condition with high grass
2. Illegal home conversion (re; Single Family)
3. Occupancy issues - unrelated people renting rooms
4. 1067 W. North Street
5. E. North Street - 2 properties by B.P. are always un-kept.
6. Rental registration
7. Hazel Marie apartments
8. Dead trees around town on and the bike path
9. Emerald Ash Borer issues
10. Grass and debris in the gutters
11. Letters need sent to lawn care companies about not blowing grass in gutters
12. What is the schedule for the street sweepers?
13. Golf Course - tree down at the 16th, and the course does look great
14. Refuse pick-up downtown on Mondays. Can that be changes?
15. Why is the river green?
16. Water gate behind the Water Plant is closed. Why?
17. Aerator in Echo Lake
18. Why was the United Way sign denied?
19. Garage sale issues
20. Signs on utility poles
21. Dean Burch explained E-Gov software
22. Sidewalk problem at 1007 Maple Street
23. 1009 Maple Street-Mulch piled up/tree removed and never finished
24. 511 Boal Avenue - Nuisance-noise etc. coming from residence.
25. Resident on South Street urinating outside

Mr. Enderle thanked all in attendance and reminded everyone to contact the City if they have further concerns in the future.
