The Piqua City Commission, City Manager,
various Department Heads and Piqua citizens met on Saturday, July 7,
2007 beginning at 12:00 PM at Kiwanis Park for City Hall in the Park.
Mr. Enderle introduced members of the
City Commission and City Staff and welcomed all in attendance.
Chief Wayne Willcox and Health Department
Director Amy Welker reviewed information in regards to the Neighborhood
Improvement Team efforts within the City of Piqua. As a result of this
presentation the following concerns and questions were mentioned:
1. 652 S. Wayne Street: High weeds on
side of house and trash
2. 1497 Nicklin: Parking problem. When vehicles park on both sides of
street, traffic must jog left of center. Could more of the curb be
painted yellow?
3. 1408 Nicklin: Resident, Bob Fulker, advises that his neighbor's tree
overhangs his house and is close to electric lines. We will ask Electric
Distribution to look at situation.
4. Boone and North Streets: Semi-trucks going to Hartzell's are using
Boone and Nicklin from College to Washington (11:00 AM to 3PM).
5. Traffic is speeding on Boone and North from College to Washington.
6. The odor originating from Winan's (coffee roasting) was discussed.
7. Questions were asked concerning plans to add additional playground
equipment at Kiwanis Park. In the interim, it was asked if additional

This question will be forwarded to the Tree Committee.

what is planned for the major entrances to Piqua.
10. 655 S. Main. Question was asked about this property that is in
foreclosure.
11. Abandoned Properties: Jean Franz asked if the city could look at an
abandoned property ordinance. She has conducted some research into what
other communities are doing with abandoned properties.
12. Tornado siren: The existing sirens are hard to hear in this area.
There was discussion concerning the new telephone alert system and how
it can be used.

auditor. It was asked if the county could mark the vehicle better.
