Residents are asked to place Christmas trees in the tree lawn in front of the house. City crews will continue picking up trees as necessary throughout the month of January.

Christmas trees are chipped and piled for use as a mulch material in the auxiliary parking lot at Pitsenbarger Sports Complex, east of the swimming pool.

Residents of the city are permitted to come to the park and pick up mulch for gardens and planting areas. Interested persons should bring their own bag or pail in which to carry mulch.

Anyone who is unable to haul his or her own mulch should contact the Street Department at 778-2095 for assistance.

This service is provided to citizens of the community and is intended for personal use by private property owners and not for commercial use.

This program provides an opportunity for homeowners to secure mulch at no cost and at the same time provide and environmentally sound system for the disposal of used Christmas trees.
