Sealed Bids for the Echo Hills
Municipal Golf Course Stream Restoration Project will be received
by the City of Piqua, Engineering Department, 201 W. Water Street,
Piqua, Ohio, until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at
which time they will be publicly opened and read.
In general, the project involves
the restoration of aquatic habitat and riparian habitat within and
adjacent to an approximately 1050 linear foot segment of an
unnamed tributary to Echo Lake at the Echo Hills Municipal Golf
Course.
The Bidding Documents, which
include drawings and specifications, may be examined and obtained
at the City of Piqua Engineering Department, 201 W. Water Street,
Piqua, Ohio. The cost for the Bidding Documents, which includes
drawings and specifications, is $30.00 and is nonrefundable. All
BIDDERS intending to submit a bid for this project must purchase a
set of Bidding Documents from the City of Piqua Engineering
Department.
Bids must be signed and submitted
on the separate bidding forms included in the Bidding Documents,
and shall be accompanied by either a Bid Guaranty Bond, certified
check, cashier's check, or letter of credit on a solvent bank in
the amount of not less than 5% of the amount of the Bid, subject
to conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The
successful BIDDER will be required to furnish a satisfactory
Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the Bid.
Each Bid must contain the full name
of the party or parties submitting the Bid and all persons
interested therein. Each BIDDER must submit evidence of its
experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner
intends and requires that this project be completed no later than
Sixty (60) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is issued.
Work cannot commence until the Nationwide Permit approval is
secured.
All contractors and subcontractors
involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use
Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the
implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor
compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity requirements of
Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive
Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be
required.
Bidders must comply with current
Prevailing Wage Rates for Public Improvements in Miami County,
Ohio as determined by the United States Department of Labor, Wage
and Hour Division.
No BIDDER shall withdraw his Bid after the actual opening thereof.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive
irregularities in any Bid, and to accept any Bid which is deemed
by Owner to be most favorable to the Owner.
This project was financed in part or totally through a grant from
the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency under the provisions of
the Surface Water Improvement Fund.
