Sealed Bids for the City of Piqua's
Staunton Street Reconstruction Project will be received by the
City of Piqua, Purchasing Director, 201 W. Water Street, Piqua,
Ohio, until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at which time they
will be publicly opened and read.
In general, the Work consists of the reconstruction of
approximately 350' of Staunton Street between Second Street and
Third Street to remove the incline in the pavement. The area
identified will be completely reconstructed with the installation
of new storm sewer, curb and gutter, full depth pavement and base
replacement and other related street facility features. The
project also includes the installation of sidewalk at various
locations along E. Main Street between Carr Street and the
entrance to the Miami Valley Center Mall. The Bidding Documents,
which include drawings and specifications, may be examined and
obtained at the City of Piqua Engineering Department, 201 W. Water
Street, Piqua, Ohio. The cost for the Bidding Documents, which
includes drawings and specifications, is $30.00 and is
nonrefundable.
Bids must be signed and submitted on the separate bidding forms
included in the Bidding Documents, and shall be accompanied by
either a Bid Guaranty Bond, certified check, cashier's check, or
letter of credit on a solvent bank in the amount of not less than
5% of the amount of the Bid, subject to conditions provided in the
Instructions to Bidders. The successful BIDDER will be required to
furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of
the Bid.
Each Bid must contain the full name of the party or parties
submitting the Bid and all persons interested therein. Each BIDDER
must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar
size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this
project be completed no later than November 23, 2007.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will,
to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services,
and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally,
contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity
requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the
Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order
84-9 shall be required.
BIDDER must comply with the Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Requirements for
Public Improvement Projects in Miami County and the City of Piqua,
Ohio. No BIDDER shall withdraw his Bid after the actual opening
thereof.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive
irregularities in any Bid, and to accept any Bid, which is deemed
by Owner to be most favorable to the Owner.
