Sealed Bids for the Piqua Power -
Utility Service Building will be received by the Piqua Power
Systems at 201 W. Water Street, Piqua, Ohio until 12:00 noon on
Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at which time they will be publicly
opened and read.
In general, the work consists of constructing the building and
completing the site work for a Utility Service Center at 201 Hemm
Avenue, Piqua, Ohio. The project is divided into 15 bid packages
as described, all of which will enter into a prime contract with
the City of Piqua. WENCO Inc. will be the Construction Manager
throughout the project.
The Bidding Documents, which
include drawings and specifications, may be examined and obtained
at ARC,

The plans and bid package are available for pick up or e-mail. All
bidders picking up plans and bid packages must register with ARC's
Bidders List - contact Brian Markland at ARC.
There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, January
10, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall.
Bids must be signed and submitted on the separate bidding forms
included in the Bidding Documents. Bids shall be placed in a
sealed envelope with the BP# listed on the front. If bid is a
combined bid, all applicable BP#'s shall be listed on the front of
the envelope. Bids shall be accompanied by either a Bid Guaranty
Bond, certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit on a
solvent bank in the amount of not less than 5% of the amount of
the Bid, subject to conditions provided in the Instructions to
Bidders. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish a
satisfactory Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the Bid.
Each Bid must contain the full name of the party or parties
submitting the Bid and all persons interested therein. Each BIDDER
must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar
size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this
project be completed no later than November 14, 2012.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will,
to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services,
and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally,
contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity
requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the
Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order
84-9 shall be required.
BIDDER must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public
Improvements in Miami County and the City of Piqua, Ohio as
determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and
Hour Division, phone (614) 644-2239.
No BIDDER shall withdraw his Bid after the actual opening thereof.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive
irregularities in any Bid, and to accept any Bid which is deemed
by Owner to be most favorable to the Owner.
