A Piqua TV5 Program |
| |
| Access Piqua Television
Association has been broadcasting programs since 1995. The Access
Piqua Television Association (APTA) is run completely by
volunteers and a part-time coordinator. The programming is
almost entirely about events, human-interest features, and
issues from Piqua. The programming can be seen in well over
ninety percent or 7,162 Piqua Area households that receive cable
service. Piqua TV5 (APTA's Local Channel) has been on
the air since 1998. Channel 5 is on the air from the studios in the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce
building daily. Approximately from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., Mondays
through Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. Programs
are aired multiple times and at different times to accommodate
people’s viewing time.

senior interview, an oral history done with older citizens in
Piqua. Graduation ceremonies at Piqua High School, Lehman

Mission
Statement of
Access Piqua Television Association (APTA) |
| |
| “The goal of Access
Piqua Television Association is to present a wide diversity of
local programming on this community’s access channel,
providing a means of communication to promote and improve the
quality of life within our community. To that end, individuals
and organizations are encouraged to contribute their own message
to the viewing community. It is the policy of the
Association to promote freedom of speech and artistic expression
on the community access channel. Access Piqua Television
Association, is however, responsible for managing the use of the
equipment and the designated local access channel.” |
